Visiting Death

Image
A weak, old man laid on his bed, The father of a merchant, lavishly fed, But he looked like as, he had lost the desire, To live and see his son aspire. The old man was ill, he sent word for his lad The boy was grieved but he managed to look glad, But the boy broke down and managed to say, "Don't leave father, don't go away." The son looked sorrowfully at the bed, The father spread a smile and said- "I can hide from death an year or a two: But then eventually he will get me too" "Why live more and die painfully? While I had enjoyed my life and will die happily, My son, death is a merchant who trades time with pain, Why shall I live more and let him gain?"

The Arrival of Monsoon

Image
The clouds are heavy, a moisture in the air, A dark gloomy day, a sound of despair, But when the first drops touch the ground, The trees happily dance around. Monsoon has arrived -the season of rain, The reason of a farmer's gain The rain is heavy, the rain is light, The birds take a small, wet flight. Though rain for me is not the happiest of all, Sitting with books and playing with a ball, No kites in the sky, no matches in the field, Though the peasants expect a nice good yield. The first rain has stopped, the sun is out, And new saplings have begun to sprout, The land is wet, the air is cold, Monsoon has arrived and it looks like gold.

Independence Day

Image
“I am no bird; and no net ensnares me: I am a free human being with an independent will.” ―  Charlotte Brontë, Jane Eyre The quote above proves no human is superior than the other. We have proved it 74 years back when we fought for our Independence against the British. We not only became an Independent country on basis of governance but also economically. For over 200 years of British rule it was not easy to manage a vast country like ours but we succeeded. Here are some facts about our country:- India is named after the river Indus. India has had 14 Prime Ministers out of which one has been a female Prime Minister. India has had 13 full-time Presidents out of which only one has been a woman. The Indian National Flag was designed by Pingali Venkayya who was one of the freedom fighters and also an agricultural from Andhra Pradesh. India's national anthem was adopted three years of post-independence. Mahatma Gandhi wasn't able to celebrate the fi r st Independence Day in Delhi.

The Fight is Not Over Yet

Image
The enormous land on which we stand, The Himalayas in front as a peaceful hand, Was not all ours a century ago, How we fought back only we do know. The people had fought to live on a free land, They fought till death until freedom was planned, On this day of freedom our heads stretch in pride, All stand together with our chests spread wide. This fight is not over it has begun again, Though instead of the British the virus is giving us pain, Not much we can do but fight till the end When the virus will no longer be in the trend. Though the day might not be remembered, But the struggle will not be forgotten, All will know how we had suffered And in the end how we had conquered.

Countryside Abode

Image
Summer has arrived, a perfect hot day: We all were heading to the village's way, I was going to my country side farm Where everything was pleasant and calm. The wind was fresh so was the smell, The green all over like someone cast a spell, The air was filled with the odour of the soil, The lamps were filled with kerosene oil. A small deep pond was near the house, Where all the chores were done by the spouse, Every cattle roamed around the field And the children who brought them acted as a shield. Such a beautiful view I could never forget When I come during monsoon I do get wet A calming scenery filled with green Just like a movie on a very big screen.
